So I was supposed to spend my night working on my final paper on Freud and Fanon but instead I decided to fill in on my house’s team for my dorm’s karaoke contest.
We sang “Genie in the Bottle.” We got second.
I’d say night well spent.
Yuppp I needed (still need to) write my midterm paper on Kant but getting second place in individual karaoke and singing along with everyone during the open mics was totally worth the procrastination!

Hmm. Favorite line…hrm. This is hard because there’s not actually many lyrics to it except the repeated line “with or without you” and I’m not sure how much I like the rest of the other lines. Sun is shining through the tree branches, the sky is the color of a robin’s egg speckled with grey-white clouds, and the mellow air carries the scent of woodsmoke. Close your eyes and smell the fresh green of newly sprouted leaves, the dark woody undertone of damp earth, and the sweet seasoned sharp yet hazy scent of logs burning. Ahhh I have missed this weather so much, and having gone for six months without the spicy scent of woodsmoke makes it even more beautiful now. I love all that the city offers, but there are some flavors of air that it just doesn’t have.

Supposed to table in cobb today selling hot chocolate - which was the dumbest thing our house has decided to sell - and damn it’s cold in here and one of my contacts is in backwards and I want to go shower (stupid waking up late for a 9 am class) but I don’t want to leave the other person here alone for two hours either.
This book is what made uChicago my dream school. Wishes (with hard work) do come true.This little booklet is the perfect insight into being a UChicago student. I read and re-read this dozens of times while I was a high school senior, waiting to go to UChicago.
